IMMERSIVE FESTIVAL SPIRIT (17 JANUARY – 17 MARCH 2026)

This special program is designed to revive and preserve the cultural essence of traditional Tet, not just through displays but through hands-on experiences that visitors can actively join.

Spring Market at 22 Hang Buom Street
A recreated traditional Tet market that reflects the colorful festive atmosphere of the Red River Delta, featuring local spring goods, festive decorations, and lively street scenes.

Heritage House at 87 Ma May Street
Step inside a beautifully restored traditional Hanoi house and discover how local families prepared for Tet in the past, with authentic décor, rituals, and pre-festival traditions on display.

Traditional processions and rituals
Experience time-honored Tet ceremonies, including the Tet pole raising ritual and traditional processions starting from historic landmarks such as O Quan Chuong Gate.

  • Timeline: Starting around 8:30 AM on February 8, 2026 (the 21st day of the 12th Lunar Month).
Highlight: Watch the traditional procession from O Quan Chuong Gate to Kim Ngan Communal House, followed by the Tet Pole Raising Ceremony (Le dung cay neu), a ritual believed to ward off evil spirits and welcome the New Year.

Visitors can take part in making banh chung (square sticky rice cakes), arranging water narcissus flowers, enjoying live folk music, and exploring art exhibitions that celebrate Vietnamese craftsmanship and seasonal aesthetics.

  • Timeline: All day on February 12, 2026 (the 25th day of the 12th Lunar Month).
Activities include morning banh chung workshops and an afternoon “Tet Style” walking tour, where locals and visitors dress in traditional ao dai to visit Hang Luoc Flower Market.
