Visitors wake up early and board a boat around 5:00–6:00 a.m. to join the lively trading atmosphere on the river. Each boat displays a “cây bẹo” (a pole showing what goods are for sale), creating a distinctive cultural scene. This is also a great chance to enjoy a simple breakfast such as hủ tiếu, bún riêu, and Vietnamese coffee right on the water.

2. Paddle a traditional sampan through small canals

Sitting on a small wooden boat, visitors are gently rowed by a local boatman through narrow canals lined with water coconut trees and lush gardens. The quiet, slow-paced setting offers a peaceful way to experience the calm rhythm of river life.

3. Visit fruit orchards & pick fresh fruit

Visitors can stroll through orchards and pick and taste seasonal fruits such as rambutan, mangosteen, and durian. Orchard owners often explain how the trees are grown and cared for, while sharing stories about daily rural life in the Mekong Delta.

4. Experience traditional coconut candy making

At local coconut candy workshops, visitors can watch every step of the process—from grating coconuts and cooking coconut milk to hand-cutting and wrapping the candy. Some places even allow guests to try stirring or wrapping the candy themselves, offering insight into the care and craftsmanship behind this traditional nghề (craft).

5. Take part in rural life activities

Visitors can try hands-on activities such as catching fish in canals, planting vegetables, casting nets, or cycling through countryside paths, monkey bridges, and shaded village roads.
